Wednesday 28th September - Windsurf ** - River Orwell at Levington –
sunny periods.
Foil – 18.80 knot max, 17.73 knot ave ., 8.02 knot hour, 13.67 knot mile,
23.89 km ., 15.10 knot alpha.
Starboard Freeride 150 and an Evolution Freeride foil with a Sailworks
Retro 7.5.
I was not going to go today, lovely sunny morning but the wind did look
very marginal so did my exercises in the sunshine:) Exercises finished
around 11.30 I checked Landguard weather station and it was gusting to 17
knots and being sunny I decided to head over to Levington Marina once again
to check out the conditions? There was loads of water on the Orwell so I
quickly set up my foil broad, thee was some white water on the far side and
nearly rigged 6. But it dropped so went with 7. Which proved OK until the
wind dropped at high water! In the end I had nearly two hours with some OK
runs with gybing the bigger sail also improving. With the wind falling
light it was time to call it a day and I made it to the shower as the heavy
rain arrived. Some bad news the lovely showers had no hot water, then home
for 3 before a quick tip to Lidl!
